Warwick Streamer stage I 96 truss rod

Hi, guys.

I have a problem with my warwick bass. One day I tried to adjust my truss rod, but I couldn't - it was stuck. I believe it has to be replaced, because there is no way it can be adjusted.
I have heard that some of the older streamers (and other models) had a removable truss rod. I tried to pull out mine, but got no luck.

Is there a way or some tips/ tricks, how to get it out? I really am afraid that disassembling the neck is only option left...
How can you tell, if your truss rod is removable? Or should I just try to pull until I succeed?

Wow that's an awful long time between joining and then posting your first post! :eek: Just wanted to weigh up the forum before wading in? ;)

To help you solve this problem; If your bass has a volute behind the neck/headstock joint then it is 'unlikely' that the truss rod can be removed easily. Also, have you tried adjusting the rod the opposite way to the way that you expect it to need to go?

Just out of interest where are you based?
 
I had a stuck truss rod on my 2001 Thumb and my guitar guy freed it up with WD-40.
 
I was just going through the threads from time to time. I guess I didn't have that much experience with warwicks to contribute to a conversation :) I acquired my only streamer by September. I am based in Latvia, but I spend a lot of my time in UK :)

I will give it a closer inspection as to where the volute is located, but I have tried both ways and the truss rod seems to be frozen - I won't move either way. I' ll give it another pull I guess :)

First of all, I'm no expert on these thingz...(I'm a bass player, not a carpenter ;)) ..but a few weex I had da same sort a problem
with my Infinette...couldn't move da truss rod in anyway...and since I couldn't find da WD-40 stuff in ay (DIY) shopz here...
I tried a little fretboard oil that I got together with da bass when I bought it...just a few tiny dropz and a day later da truss rod
was fully adjustable again...8:

In addition to a squirt of lubricant,you can also give the neck a slight bend while you're turning the rod.
