Hi Guys,

So I am the happy owner of a Warwick Streamer LX 5, Hellborg Preamp, and Distressor, and this is the sound I am getting out of them:

First part is with the distressor, second part is without the distressor, and believe or not, it has higher peaks :-)
 
I suppose the greatest positive feedback I can give is "can't wait for you to sell them":lol:.
 
@Florin, it is possible to have higher peaks with a compressor in your signal path. However, that just means that your output gain is set at a higher level than your dry signal. So basically the whole signal is louder, not just the peaks. ;-)

Thanks buddy. I said the clean sound had higher peaks, but it is much quieter in fact :)
 
wow, that sounds pretty darn good. the distressor really beefs up the sound!
 
That sounds awesome!!!! I am constantly amazed how good my Hellborg pre sounds. I did a recording session with some guys yesterday and the bass player had a fender jazz bass and i tracked him through the hellborg. he was blown away and i too was thinking how good it sounded. Not as good as my Thumb basses but the best a fender can sound for sure. ha ha

That Distressor sounds very nice, Pity there is no where in New Zealand to try one as i have a few compressors and would want to a/b one before spending that much.
 
It's a good stuff to make a conclusion if that gear worth buying. I think it worth. The sound is really nice whatever Distresor is in chain or not.

I've tested it at rehearsals, on a small PA system. It is amazing! I used old vintage symetrix 501 before, and klarktechnic, but this one kicks their asses big time!h.
Plus it is incredibly versatile. Basically each ratio comes with it's own character, it is not only a ratio. 10.1 has even a different detection circuit, so it emulates an opto compressor, and I used that in studio. For live it is too lazy for my taste though.
That clip as 6.1 and at the rehearsals I found it to be way to aggressive even for metuhl, so I lowered to 4.1.
Have you noticed I used the word aggressive, not squashed? Because that's how it sounded! really aggressive an in your face. at 4.1 it became more tamed, and human. :-)

Tomorrow it is my first outdoors gig woooohoooo!
