Beautifull bass man! The color looks weird to me, is it the camera ?

The body color seems lighter than my '88 SSII... mine is darker, same tint than the picture of Chris90's one. Looking the back picture you seem to have a diffenrent finish than natural oil, may be that's why the body seems to have a lighter tint though...

I dunno if it's the camera, but it looks alot like a lightly spalted maple body to me.

the high polish and the flash of the cam makes it unnaturally bright coloured. it does have a lighter colour as other ssII because of not beeing waxed but it's definetely afzelia!
this body-wood has the typical figured afzelia from that era which i think they changed in 1990 like mine
