I bought a SS1 (2012) and I have a problem.
It's MEC pu's and MEC PREAMP.
If I on active mode, I can hear hiss noise.
But not heard in the passive mode.
I've attached the recording. please Listen.
I turned off the lights in the room and recorded them with a laptop battery.
Of course, it only recorded one(Belden) cable(EQ setting all flat).
This noise really growing up when used with the drive(Darkglass) or the comp(Cali76).
