Hi Randy,
Is there a big difference between the RB Streamer LX and a German made Streamer in sound and playability? I love the sound of my RB Fortress but have no clue what the German model would sound like in the same config. My local music store isn't going to be open for a little while so I'm not going to have a chance to have a play myself but if you have any insight on the above it would be great.

I love the sound of my Rockbass. Of course, someday I dream to own a real Warwick. But for now, I am proud of my RB Corvette 5-string and consider it as a treasure.

Randy,
I found the time to read the entire story. question: did you get a real wick in the end, or up till now at least? cause you are saying you would like to try or have one. or have you had your chance to try a triumph?

I think Florin answered your question better than I ever could since Ive never played a real Warwick Streamer. Judging by the difference in woods and from what I have heard on recordings of actual Streamers, I would guess that real streamer too have a slightly fatter bottom with a much more pronounced mid-range. Although the RockBass does have a nice mid range growl to it which I think is mostly attributable to its electronics. As I have said before, as a totaly seperate instrument, the RockBass is a great bass, that is extremely playable and has a familiarity to the Warwick sound, but its no substitue for a real wick. But then again, a real wick is no RockBass, so I am sure if I were to get a real wick today, my RockBass would still have its uses.

Hahaha I had to go back and read what I wrote, because at first I had no idea what you were talking about. Hahaha Ummm No, to date, I still have not got a real warwick, although I still keep my eyes peeled on ebay for that once in a lifetime deal. Truth is, everytime I get a few dollars ahead and start looking in earnest, life always seems to happen and I end up having to spend my money on other things. But that's cool, because currently I have no real need for a new bass, it's just one of those "I want one" things, and unfortunately the "I need" things that life always throws in my face has to take presidence.
Also, no I do not have a triumph. I was just sort of teasing everyone back about the no picture no bass line they kept throwing at me. I said I was offended by thier insinuating I was lying and was mearly saying that if I were lying I would have picked a Triumph to lie about instead of a RockBass. That was like one of my first attempts at humor on the forum, but because no one really knew me yet, they didn't get I was teasing them back and thought I was really offended. Anyway, yes, I would love to own a Triumph, its a beautiful instrument, but I don't see one in my future anytime soon. Even if I were to win the lottery, my CS double neck would have to come first, and that is just a dream for me as well. Hell, I can buy property where I live for what they would charge me for that instrument. hahaha

I`d love to test a Rockbass $$, but even if I can`t, I still might purchase one. It looks like an affordable beast.

So negyuh i like the way my RB vette plays and sounds. It is no doubt a different beast compared to my German Thumb. The Vette has a great cutting bite to it. I'm glad i got it well worth the cash. I have some songs i prefer hands down to play it on. It's a lot easier on the old back and shoulders then thumb that's for sure. The neck profile is comfortable. Over all i like it a lot.
