Hi guys,

I finally dipped my toe in the Warwick pool a couple of weeks ago and ordered a new corvette $$ from my local dealer and was told it would be 7-10 days max, usually a lot less.
So I go in today to check what's happened to it and was told by the sales guy that the Warwick factory has been closed for the last two weeks and everyone went on holiday. Can you tell me if this true or just a cover up?

It sounds a little fishy to me...

Yes. Some of our people are on vacation the past week and this one. This doesn't mean that Guitar Center wouldn't be able to get you your $$. The distributor here in the US should have enough instruments as it is to deliver you your $$.

*ding*

Guitar Center has enough of a warehouse to have most of the more common stuff you want in stock....as for the responses above regarding to Guitar Center, yes, it is somewhat true. The place is hit or miss, and the one near me is very straightforward about everything (but that was after a few transactions). Unfortunately, the guy that I always go to left Guitar Center to open his own business doing instrument repair. I mean, its unfortunate for me because I dont get stuff at crazy discounts, but still ;-)

Ah ok, thanks.

I just felt it was a bit odd the way he described it as the whole factory shutting down for two weeks and the distributers weren't told this was happening. Maybe I was just in a suspicious frame of mind after their hard sell on Spectors over Warwicks. I was expecting a "Sorry, cant get the $$. How about a Spector instead which just happens to be in stock..."

I'm not in the US. I'm in Scotland so maybe the UK distributer doesn't hold as much stock?
