Gee , that really sux mate , should ve been straight thrue Bass Central , or with Warwick Germany which would ve send you to either BC or Warwick CS usa .

Too bad US Music are being like that , it would be better for Warwick to find another US Distributor .

I know it s easy to say this after the facts , but something should be done .
 
Update on this ancient thread

OK, since you all asked so nicely so long ago, here is a pic of my Alembic Rogue.

32" scale, 1.5"/nut, thin neck, 2 pups, Ruthenium hardware, "coopered" back (like my Thumb), Redwood Burl/Purpleheart layer/Mahogany core/matching Redwood burl back/Redwood burl headstock, LEDs, Maple neck, Ebony fretboard, and much more. A lovely bass, great to play, very well balanced. However, 4x9v batteries? :eek:

This order was not all unicorns and rainbows, either. From the in-progress pics they sent me just before going to hardware install, I noticed the bass did not have the coopered back. Oops. They had to start from the beginning on a new bass. The good news was that they finished the "oops" baby and sold it rather quickly.

However, I'm still in possession of two lovely Warwick basses that I'd rather modify than sell. I love the sound of my Thumb fretless, I just want a different neck and my Corvette $$ is awesome, but a neck shave would make it so much better. My hopes are either that Warwick CS can/will do the work or someone out there knows of a US luthier that could do it.
 
very nice bass :) but with really 4x9 V batteries ??
it would be easier and nicer to build an extra cable with integrated current cable, that you connect this bass directly with an power supply ;)

Ugly as hell. Get rid of it. Sell it. To me. But don´t anticipate too many bottlecaps in return. Because it´s ugly. As I said.

i think he means a slighly formed/ worked out concave backside from the Bassbody, like Streamers or Thumbs
 
AsturHero, that's exactly right. It's just like my Thumb in that regard. Alembic had made several basses with coopered backs in the past, but it's not a custom option they advertise. Very comfortable and I dislike playing basses without it now.

Also, regarding the battery question, the Series model electronics from Alembic provide the capability to run from an external power supply. I just didn't want to have another piece of gear to rack mount and carry around. Plus, one of the batts is for the LEDs, which don't go on all that often. Most folks with Alembics can get about a year out of a fresh set of batts..
 
The less things to worry about the better, though have to say I love both contoured and non contoured basses, really depends on the overall feel for me
 
Just read through all of this, and I have to say, it really sucks that some Warwick Distributors tarnish the brands name with bad customer service and sorry to hear you couldn't get the dolphin you wanted too. I am lucky though that in aus our Distributor, Dominant, do an awesome job of replying to my emails, giving me plenty of info, and sort everything out super quickly! So +1 for them, I am very grateful for the work they do after hearing how bad some can be!!

I thought Warwick´s Spain distributor was weak, until I knew about USM. ;)

TBH, Warwick has a MAYOR issue with their US distributors.
