I just wanted to share with you guys a warwick thumb inspired guitar stand I just put together. I was able to get all the materials at home depot for about 20 dollars. If any of you are interested on building your own, these are the materials I picked up:
Wood (obviously) 2ft x 4ft - $12
Hinge - $2.50
Chain and hooks - $2.25
Small can of wood stain -$3.50

Please don't diss the carpentry work :0) I am a complete noob when it comes to wood work. Luckily all I needed was a jigsaw EDITEED.JPG

Wouldnt you think Warwick would jump on a idea like this? I know they make guitar stand cases but if they were to sell something similar to this stand and use bubinga or ovangkol.....These things would sell like hotcakes. I wonder who I need to contact to propose this idea :0)

love this man,

Hans Peter Wilfer, the owner . But Rockstand Division has something alike

You should market it yourself i think , but I don t know .

Looks really nice. I'm just a bit worried about wood against wood there. Maybe add some light padding?

You can't tell from the pics but I have soft rubber feet that the bass lays on. As for the neck, I have placed two really thin foam pads. So there is no wood on wood contact.

You really love your bass man, I can see it from here.

How much you think you would sell these , maybe some guys here would be interested, never know .

I'm a carpenter but a different kind. I'm more of the home repair type and I really like that piece. I saw a nice bench today and I may make a template from it. Very inspirational work there young man. Good share!

Thanks for the wonderful comments you guys. This was the first real carpentry piece I have ever put together. And quite honestly I rushed this project and it only took me about 30 minutes to make....aside from the staining part. But I did find the carpentry itself very enjoyable. I plan on picking up a router this weekend to improve the stand or maybe even putting another one together. I'll keep you guys posted. It would be cool if I could find a piece of bubinga to make one out of!!1
