Warmoth "Vampyre"

Well, so many has copied the Fender-shape, so it was just a question before the Vampyre would have it.

No really.

somehow the lighter shades don't do the body shape justice.
the guy says it is a Gecko 35" neck...at the bottom, it says it's all Warmoth? huh?? Im assuming Gecko is also a brand name not just the decal on it.

i think he meant the sounds is better than the Musicman, not the look. but hell, he could at least give credit where the inspiration came from

Hey amigos,

Although the guy did not mention it (he says he was trying to
emulate a Musicman), it is obvious that he copied the Vampyre
body for that bass:

Warmoth Custom Guitar Parts - Gallery Entry

Weird, uh?

Really ?

Looks to me like a 1960's Epiphone, with horns added onto
it. Maybe he was copying a Schecter of something like that.

I got a whole bunch of Wicks .... and a whole bunch of MMs.
If want a MM, you gotta get a MM. Same, acoarst, for Wicks.

Gecko is a premium section of the Warmoth line.

Nothing else sounds like a MM. That don't mean
everyone hasta dig the MM sound, but there's no
"better than". Tone either is, or is not, MM tone.

BTW, Warmoths are respected. No other "parts
bass" really holds it's value, but an "all Warmoth"
bass holds its resale about as well as most name
brands of fully finished manufactured basses. At
least thaz true of Warmoth's Fender-like basses,
even when made of unusual woods, etc. Acoarst,
if the entire bass is weird, well since that would
limit its general appeal, resale [which is a sign of
broad-based respect] would nose-dive.
