hello, im new here, and this is my first post... and i think im posting in the right area? my apologies if im not. my bass is a right handed corvette std 5 string bubinga, and i just want to change up the look a bit by ridding of the stock chrome hardware... im wondering about everything that i am going to need to purchase?... and if possible, if there is a place that i can order the parts from in the states? the shipping charges from germany are a bit outrageous. thank you!

I just found out they don't deal with Warwick stuff anymore....jeez...

it's harder to get parts for our babies here in the US...
 
Either call Bass Central in Florida, or the NYC custom shop. Bass Central might have a better price for you, but they will most likely order through the custom shop as the US distributor has changed and will be a while before they start carrying everything.

I just ordered a few parts from Bass Central and they are a breeze to deal with and very friendly.
 
i got a response from lee @ west la music... he got a hold of a rep in new york, i assume at the custom shop there... he said it was going to be $250 for the hardware kit, and around $20 for shipping with a 2-3 week wait for the kit to ship from germany... so, unfortunately, it looks like im not going to save much vs ordering through the online shop...

edit: yeah, just did a check in the shop with everything i think i need (if im missing something, please let me know)

-Warwick bridge/tailpiece (5-string) x 1
-Bushing for Warwick machine heads 17mm x 5
-Warwick machine head right x 2 (not sure im right on the machine heads)
-Warwick machine head left x 3
-Standard control Knob (2 pieces) x 2
-Stacked Control Knob, 6 mm x 1
-Warwick Security Lock Set x 1

total (shipping included) = 200.75 eur = 274.71 us

$5 savings... woohoo... :|

oh whoopie, I'd just order from the NYC shop instead

and they told me "we dont deal with Warwick anymore"....meh....

thats what i was thinking...

with the 60 eur for shipping from the online store, to the 20 usd for shipping in the us... and only an approximate $5 in savings...? that isnt quite adding up... i dont expect a deal, by any means... but dont add shipping onto the cost of the items and knock the shipping down to $20 and act like its square... i find it incredibly hard to believe that they dont already have the parts i need in the us
 
do you know or have family that live outside the usa(is that where your from??) if so could you order from a shop close to them..what i mean is if you had a aunt or brother in say germany or the uk.they could buy it for you and mail it to you for your birthday(as a gift second hand used parts or whatever)it would be cheaper i think no??
 
that would be nice, but unfortunately it isnt an option i have available to me.

you do not need the bushings they are included with the tuning pegs
