Hi
there's a nice black streamer in eBay right now
serial number A2449
has dots on the fingerboard ;
eBay item number is 160689532584
what year was this built? It's not so expensive ...

between 88-90 I would say. Too sad he don't ship outside us/canada! She is gorgeous

There's lot of info on this forum about how to determine year of those "vintage" wicks: shape of the headstock, tuners position, nut, 1 or 2 pieces bridge, pickups... woods... control cavity plate...

I have an 86 streamer 1 with cherry wood body, wenge neck and gloss finish; it has the one piece Schaller bridge; fantastic bass!
If I remember well , around 1988 they changed to a 2 piece bridge; still with a Cherry body; then they used a maple body instead of Cherry (did not sound as good in my opinion!) they still had a wenge neckthrough ; then they changed the wenge neck for a maple neck (with a wenge fingerboard ); another bad idea in my opinion; it's not that they don't sound good ; but I think the early Warwick Streamer bass had an incredible Growl and sound; they are some of the best basses ever made!
Any idea what this black bass has for body wings and neck? I know the fingerboard is wenge; I also prefer basses with a gloss finish; they usually sound brighter !
 
I'm hoping it's a cherry/wenge combo can anyone confirm?

Jan 1990 means body is defenitly maple
And neck might still be wenge
Had a december 1990 stage 1 once -- all maple

My Nov' 90 is all Maple and I have to say that though I love the earliest Cherry/Wenge SSI basses, there are benefits to the all Maple basses. Best to have one of each; Cherry/Wenge, Maple/Wenge & Maple/Maple! ;)

nobody talks about the streamer 2; that also has a wenge neckthrough and an Afzelia body...
I have never played one, but I can imagine they are killer too!
When was this bass introduced? 1989???

SSII are fantastic basses... just different to the SSI. :)

I've owned 1988 SSII basses but I'm sure I recall that there are '87 basses!

the first JJ Streamer Bass (still no hidden neck) where realeased in 86 (3-10 instrments)
they had alembic style inlays, afzelia body and JJ Pus.

the real first Stage II was procuded in 87 I think (never seen an earlier one)


Flo describes the stage 2 sound as Jazzbass on steroids:-)

There was one of those '86 hybrid SSI / SSII (JJ) basses on ebay recently, went for about 1400 Euro.
 
yes #5 I think

I had #1 once and #2 was sold a while earlier

first I thouhgt I had the only one:-)
