I had my corvette std active bubinga recently signed by Victor Wooten. I was wondering if anyone knew an approximate value of the bass because i am looking to save up for a SS1. The bass is in very good condition, only being gigged on twice. does anyone think it adds any value that its worth me parting with this lovely instrument?
 
Personally... I think Vic's signed enough basses - I think ive even seen a few on here - and thats not including everything else that he manages to sign, to devalue the impact of his signature. Although who knows, you might get a tiny bit more cash for it.
Its more important that the bass is in really good condition and has been kept in a relatively clean environment.
 
IMO it would be worth more if it was one of his instruments.

I don't think a signature is going to increase the value, but I do think it would put a number of people off buying it. I wouldn't want someone else's signature on my bass - but that's just me :)

Good luck anyway, the SS1 is worth saving up for :)
 
It might ad a few bucks to it's value but Mr. Wooten would probably need to die first for it to be of any significance.
I wonder what Wooten would make of all this shamelessness.
 
Wooten signing a Warwick bass is like Joe Montana signing a Dallas jersey.
I don't see where this would increase the value unless as Thumperton stated he was to "pass-on". My 2 cents.
 
I would just keep the vette and buy the SS1 without trading it. They sound so different it would be worth it.
 
Agree. I wouldn't want an autograph on my bass. Someones signature doesn't mean anything to me...
 
I wouldn't mind Vic's signature on one of my Flecktones albums, but not on my bass!
 
I don't care for signatures at all, but if I like the bass, I'll buy it anyways... as long as I'm not paying extra for the signature!

You got a point there :P I'd have them sign my headstock (back) I usually dont wax that much :P
