So, I think some of you are in touch
with the "Tyler, Out!" thread that I
started a little over two weeks ago.

If not, the back-story is this...

This girl [Tanna] and I have known
each other for three years, and been
the best of friends throughout.

Late in October (The 30th... I know,
Mischief night, haha.) we decided to
go one step further in out friendship,
and turn it into a relationship.

Things were great, I felt amazing every
day I woke up, as I'm sure she did too.

She paid to fly me out to Florida (Where
I'm from.) to be with her through Christmas.

While there, we had a lot of fun, I even
went to Disney for the first time with her
sister-like Aunt (They're Tres years apart.)
and had a blast.

Another night, we drank way to much, and
fought really bad, and unfortunately the
relationship never really recovered like she
played it out to seem.

Her Uncle and his wife came over, and brought
their baby. Seeing my girl holding this infant
brought a big crazy stupid grin to my face,
as I thought I was looking into an amazing
future with an amazing girl.

I get back to Louisiana, and her sister-like
Aunt tells me she is now hanging out with her
ex-boyfriend the very day AFTER I left.

I get off the phone with "our" (I say "our"
because she is no longer friends with Tanna.)
friend, and learn that she cheated on me not
just once (Which I forgave her for... Long distance
relationships aren't easy.) but twice. The first
time being October 31st! The very night AFTER
we agreed to be each other's.

As stated before, the relationship never really
fully recovered from the fight, and I learned
last night that she's not ready for this kind of
a relationship, and the stress it's putting on her
(Stress from what I imagine to be lying constantly.)
is not suitable for the environment that she'll
be entering come 27 January, USAF bootcamp.

Sooo... If you're still with me, I basically had my
boys put through a vice grip over the past day
or so, and am basically awaiting her to get off
from work, so we can have us a little talky talky,
because I can't be friends with some who would
do these things to another person, let alone
someone whom is supposed to be your best friend.

Ugh!

So, yeah, sorry for the venting, but hey, I warned
you!

People have trouble taking things seriously when distance is involved.

Sorry mate. At least you didn't have too much time involved with her.

Funny thing, I just finished re-learning Auld Lang Syne.

I can never remember it year to year. You should read it,
maybe play it. Sing it to yourself .... and then decide that
last year's grief belongs to last year. It's gone. Move on.

Sorry, it takes all those hash marks to keep the
forum software from screwing up the changes.
They're not meant to be 1/16ths or anything ....

Just got done playing some Killswitch...
Maybe I'll play them as sixteenths anyway,
could be fun, haha.

I love Bass Therapy. You just can't argue
with it!

I had a cheatin' wife and I learned my lesson about those kind of people...the kind that take people for granted...

"one should not cast pearls before swine..."

I'm sorry this happened. Hang in there bud!

Sorry to hear about this Tyler.
The plans you've been making with Tanna were making you happy, but plans this big need to be based on honesty & trust & by the sounds of it,your alot more serious about honesty & trust at this point, then Tanna is.
I'd put things on hold for now & see where you both are after boot camp. Most of us are at our very best when holding a baby. It's what we're like when we aint holding a baby that ya should consider before making big, scary life plans with someone.
I really hope things sort themselves out for ya's both. It'd be a shame to see you go back to smoking a pack a day bro.
Try to keep yer chin up eh. :)

Consider yourself lucky my friend, one of my best mates caught his wife cheating and she planted a steak knife in his chest.

Did make an awesome scar, though.

That's some good advice to go by Greg,
thanks. I think I'm going to hold out for
as long as I need to with her.

It's weird, but I've been in two relationships,
and both of them failed because I was in
love with Tanna, and not them.
(Which was dishonest of me, but hey, I ended
them.)

No matter what happens, her and I will
always be friends, and besides, this does
yield good for me. I'm no longer stressed
out about moving to Arizona or Tennessee
to be with her right away, now I know I can
pursue my avenue of Firefighting.

Oh yeah, I never mentioned it. If I can't be
in the military because of my tattoos (and I
can't afford to have them removed) then I'm
going back to school, getting my EMT cert, and
becoming a member of a Fire Department
somewhere. Exciting work, good pay, and I'll
be able to get that warm ooey gooey feeling
inside knowing I'm doing something to contribute,
help, and possibly save a community.

Wow, sorry to hear about all this Tyler. I think we can all relate to this kind of thing and you're right, it really sucks. First, starting a relationship with a good friend there is always a risk. If it works out, then it's absolutely wonderful. But if it goes sour then the loss is doubly hard. First none of us like to lose a girl friend, but I think the loss of a good friend is so much more devastating. Add the two together, and the hurt can be considerable. So Tyler, I think most of us can relate and really feel for you. So don't sweat venting man, it's not healthy to keep things bottled inside, especially the bad stuff, so vent away, that's what Bro's are for.

Sorry to hear about it Tyler - stay with it, and think things through carefully.

It'll all work out - just be sure to make good decisions.

;)

This is what 2009 is about for me.

I'm leaving the gutter life behind,
in the past, with 2008, where it belongs.

Move on. You'll just drive yourself crazy over this and it's not worth it.

A long distant relationship while she's in the AF will not work. Find someone local to you.

Im sorry to hear all this man, I really am just take it easy and relax as much as possible, we're here for you

that sucks man. best thing to do is move on and try not to drink too much. it's hard, but take your time.

Move on, never look back! A relationship is almost always getting worse in time... It takes a PERFECT relationship, to have a good mariage in the future... That's my oppinion mate, and it is possible to be wrong. I have a beautiful mariage, I think because I never hesitated to break a relationship at the first sign of degradation. Until I found HER
I know it is hard to you, but you have us as friends :-)

Happy new year!

P.S. Golem, I love you! :-)

You can still go in the military with tattoos. They can't be on your face but I was in the AF and there were lots of people with tattoos (and this was 20 yrs ago). I think they also frown on tattoos on your hands but just about everything else can be covered up.

I ain't in your shoes to tell you what to do. All I'll say will be: think about it for a long time, a couple of weeks and take the decision that will be YOUR decision that will help you fulfill your needs. It's the kind of decisions where people have polarized opinions and that's exactly why you really have to listen to yourself and no one else.

I've got one on my neck, knuckles,
and tops of my hands. Not to mention
my left forearm is covered front and back.

I automatically disqualify for the "Ear Lobe
Law" instated in 2007. You can have a tattoo
on the side of your neck, so long as it's not forward
of your ear lobe.

Mine is.

Sooo... I'm disqualified from all full time active duty
of all branches. Been through all the recruiters, I
have an AF recruiter that's a close personal friend of
mine. My ex, is in, and my cousin was in the AF as
well. My other cousin is a Captain in the US Army.

Like a tampon thief, I've tried to pull some strings,
but to no avail.

I really appreciate all the advice guys. Last night
was kind of rough on me, this is the first New Years
I've ever spent alone, and I never realized how much
I'd miss having someone to kiss as the ball dropped. :?

Got through it though. Still talking to the lil lady, and
maybe in a week when she's done with her punishment
for eating an apple, we can talk about the future.

The two of us are almost righteous believers in good
timing, so, who knows, maybe after boot camp we can
give it another go.
