About to make a trade to get this bass (MAYBE)..

What do you guys think about it?

Dolphin Pro 1
1996
Bartolini Soapbars
active preamp
D-tuner
Hi gloss finish in the Boire body

That looks sweet to me! :D
Don't know what you're trading for it, but that would be nice to own!

Trading a Modulus Flea bass 4 string, silver flake, Bartolini MM pickup, Aguilar preamp.

Personally I'd keep the Dolphin... But that's just me :P

Ah, Read that wrong... In which case.. Go for it...

Yes, marcbass is trading his Modulus Flea 4-string for that Dolphin...

Me personally, I would make the trade - that '96 Dolphin would add nicely to your Warwick collection. But while I like Modulus too, I am partial to Warwick, so my opinion is highly biased! 8)

I think you should DEFINITELY PASS! And then give the other dude my email address.. :D

Marc you dont need any more basses! But,when did "need" ever matter? When it comes to Warwicks, you can never have enough.
What amps are you using these days Marc?I remember you were jumping ship to PJB?

Haven't made the trade yet.

I'd accually want some money if the trade should be intresting for me.
I'm confused right now! :)

I play EBS Fafner + EBS NEO 2x12" + EBS NEO 2x10".
And I have a Markbass Little Mark limited edition F1 head that I use in diffrent cabs, like Peavey 4x10", Peavey 1x15" or my two KUSTOM 1x15" cabs.

So I have some gear. ;)

I just looked at the prices of new Dolphins and Flea basses and found the following (in U.S. dollars):

Modulus 4-string sparkle finish Flea bass lists for $3148.00; Musician's Friend sells it for $2479.00.

Warwick Dolphin Pro 1 4-string bass lists for $5399.00; Musician's Friend sells it for $4319.00.

Year and wear between the two basses will make some value changes, but that Dolphin looks like it's been taken well care of, so its value should still hold.

You would be getting a killer deal in a straight-out trade, as the Dolphin is valued quite a bit higher than the Flea bass ($4319.00 vs. $2479.00 street). Because of that, I doubt you could get extra cash. But I would not have any confusion about jumping at such a deal! 8)

That's a good point.

That Dolphin looks awesome - BTW which years were they made in another country?

That's the Dolphin Pro 2.Different bass altogether.

Prices in sweden are almost the same. The Dolphin has a WAY higher listprice. The Used price is a big diffrence tho..

Even tho a bass costs about $1000-1500 more NEW. It don't have to mean that the used value is higher..

A Warwick is not worth HALF the listprice in sweden if it's used.

Like the Thumb 4 stringer från 198? i talked about. It had a tag of 9000SKR in the store. Thats very very cheap in the rest of the World. I think I could have bought it and sold it to the US for about 15000SKR.

THe same with Dolphin.. Not so "wanted" in Sweden as a Modulus Flea bass...
All Modulus basses are very rare in Sweden. That's why I think like I do..
