Not much change to report - things are going well and continuing to improve, except for one level: My Creatinine level continues to stay a bit high and that effects my kidneys, so I could use your thoughts and rayers concerning that.
I have been geeting out to the music stores, grocery stores and even the movie theater - all at my doctor's recommendation, as long as I don't go at peak times when lots of people are around. In the last few days, I finally got around to getting my Warwick Forum poster framed with a black metal frame and glass front - very nice looking! Then on Friday, I noticed that my Line 6 Echo Park, DigiTech Whammy Pedal, and my MXR Flanger were adding a bit of hiss and other noises to my rig, so I had my dad take me to Guitar Center to return the Whammy Pedal and I got an MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay and an MXR EVH 90 Phase Shifter to try out. Since I already have an MXR El Grande Bass Fuzz and a Dunlop Cry Baby Bass Wah, I decided to also get a Dunlop DC Brick to make my pedalboard an all-Dunlop/MXR deal.
Turns out, I LOVE the Carbon Copy and the EVH 90, so I also ordered an MXR Bass Auto Q online and it should arrive Monday. If that tests out as good as the others, then my PedalLID pedalboard project will be finalized. After trying a ton of boutique and custom modded pedals (many of which I am still keeping for recording only), I have come to find that MXR still makes the best and quietest stuff, just like they did back in the '70s and '80s!
I do find my Maxon AD-999 900ms Analog Delay that I have rack-mounted and in my Mo' Bass FX loop to have better control of its oscillation and Delay Time (those UFO effects), but the MXR Carbon Copy adds a Modulation switch and it has interal controls for setting the Width and Rate of the modulation, so now I get those earie warbles in my delay if I want. Very cool. The EVH 90 vs. the EH Nano Small Stone that's also in my rack and FX loop is a tough one to call. Both run quiet and have some nice liquidy swirls. Both also have two diferent modes: the EVH 90 has the old "Script Logo" and the more pronounced "Block Logo" mode and the Small Stone has a Color switch that can make its effect sweep differently and be more pronounced as well. In the final analysis, I think I give the nod to the EVH 90 - it's just a little more fluid and creamier.
I hope the Bass Auto Q works out as well. If anyone has experience with one, please share it here. I like many of the reviews I've read about it on Harmony Central and other places. Between my SWR Mo' Bass and my Dunlop/MXR PedalLID, I'm having the time of my life exploring animated bass during my time of recovery!
