hi some of you know i had a stroke back in jan after that i hhad my lungs fill up with fluid congestive heart failure and a bad heart attack it ended up that my aortic valve was falling apart and causing all my problems.i thank god i found a excellet surgeon and i'm all fixed up now it makes me apperciate familly and freinds even more i loook at it could have been a lot worse so i feel lucky it ended up as it has after a couple of months i should be able to go back to work.this is the only forum i would post anything like this i feel that there are a lot of real nicepeople here

Wow, I am really glad you are making such great progress! Thats super! I have been praying for your recovery and I hope you will continue to mend in the future. As I said before, I had stage 4 cancer and they did a lot of chemo and radiation on me. Both legs are sprinkled with titanium parts from my surgeon because the cancer ate parts of them, but, I'm going to keep on enjoying my Thumb bass, my family and my friends (and I bet you will too). Please let us know how you are doing from time to time cause we're rooting for ya. You could be an inspiration to someone else who has had a tough time.
 
Right On James ... Glad to hear they got you figured out and squared away and you're on the mend. Ive had two heart attacks now, nothing as major as yours, so I can sort of relate to what you have been going through. Remember to take it slow and easy at first and not try to do too much too fast. I know after they put the stent in my heart I went from felling tired and listless all the time to felling better than I had in years and ran right out and tried to do everything I was doing before the heart attack and even things I hadn't been able to do in years and nearly put myself right back in the hospital. Although I felt so much better, my body still needed time to recover and regain its strength. But its absolutely wonderful that they found and solved what was at the heart (sorry, bad pun not intended) of all your medical problems and was able to correct it. Just think of all those bass lines you will continue to have time to explore now. We'll be pulling for your rapid recovery and your future good health. (to steal a line from our Brit and Aussie Brothers) Cheers Mate!

Hey James, sounds like its been pretty rough for you lately, lets all hope the worst of it is over now! Keep us all updated, hopefully we'll be seeing lots more of you on the forum whilst your 'resting and recovering' :d

Thanks guys your support means a lot to me it's still to hard to play but every day is a little better and wwhen i'm able i plan to do some heavy playing and see if i can get my chops back thanks again for your good wishs and prayers.
 
Man, How gad I am to read all that! Think of you all the time, mate, and I'm sure you're on the way. The important thing is "everyday a little better", there's no hurry. Go ahead and be sure I'm going with you from here. You'll be spanking that Thumb in no time!
 
i just read that peter steele died from a heart problem and it kind of creeped me out i remember seeing him with carnivor playing at lamours in brooklyn he wasn't that much older them me.
 
Yeah, I'm on that range of age also. However, I don't think his lifestyle was very healthy...
