Can you name the basses behind the Thumb here? Who has the horn?

Looks right Andrew....except one extra control knob near the bridge, also no inlays... and I 'm not sure if it's a burl dark spot, but the truss rod access looks to be at the neck joint on Lorenzo's.


I honestly can't see anything past the INSANE wood on dat Thumb :eek:

Is that just a crazy multi-colored partial albino Bubinga slab?

Never seen anything like it. Custom Shop I'm guessing? I see "normal" Bubinga near the knobs....but the blonde in the middle, which is obviously part of the thin Bubinga strip? And the top, almost a flame Ovangkal?

Wha wha what am I looking at. I must know!
 
I think the bubinga is the same one they used on that LTD Corvette $$

waterfall bubinga? It's just not pommele, it's a straight divide between sap and heartwood... weird. but cool.

I like it!
 
Don´t think so, not the same knob allignment or inlays...
 
Well done all. Vigier (with metal FB), F-bass, Sadowsky and Uber-Jay at the back. The Thumb is a standard 1988 but the bubinga has unusual markings. Thanks for your comments!

Ahhhh Uber-Jay :) Nice!

Wowie. That is the craziest, most awesome "standard" Thumb I've ever seen. Very unique. Like Shelby said, looks like a cross section of various parts of the Bubinga tree. And I just noticed the super thin strip of "normal" looking Bubinga up by the top horn, in your avatar. Crazy.

Ya don't see any standard Thumbs coming out like that anymore.

Lorenzo.... I'd personally love to see some more pics of her, front and back, if ya ever get a chance :)

My god, that is such a unique piece. I could stare at that for hours. That flame section in the middle :eek:

Ohhh gotcha. No more Thumbs for me until I get an SS1... But thanks a bunch for the first chance at it. If you do decide to sell...there will be a lot of interest... For sure :) That is incredible it was sitting in a pawn shop:eek:
