So I've been playing bass for a little over two years and I figured I'd try out this youtube thing with uploading and all! Sorry for the tones in the videos, but hey that's what a 12 inch gives ya.

The Smiths - Still Ill

Jamiroquai - Hooked Up

Hope some of you will find these amusing to watch:)

Thanks! Will re-record these with better audio/tone, so I'm gonna pull them off one by one by using my flashy movie maker skills instead:))

are you an upright player that switched to electric? i noticed you aren't to fond of using your ring finger

Haha, nice one Flo! I was just referring to my under-utilization of the ring finger. I use it only on the high register because my wrist makes a sharper angle in the low register and I want to protect my tendons and nerves. For example when I need to use ring and pinky on a passage, I will shift and use index and middle.

Very nice playing Aune!

Yeah sometimes it's just easier to use the pinkie on octaves and fifths instead of the ring finger, no stretching required.

I agree, i do that all the time. But for some reason i prefer my ring finger when i'm doing slap stuff. Anyway, anybody who doesn't already play upright, i highly suggest trying it out at least for a little bit, it's a nice change of pace.

p.s. some very nice playing there Aune
