yesterday i played my corvette std5 back to back with a thumb bo 5.Thumb was for for sell near me, so i bring my corvette to A-B test.
Corvette is 1999 ash- wenge, thumb is 1999 ovaklol-ovankol
Well, thumb is a fantastic bass.So full and present, but also smooth and creamy.A stingray is more aggresive. No mids for my poor corvette, just an anemic tone.
For slap tone , corvette did the job, because we have used to jazz bass slap tone so many years. But thumb was better even for slap.At least for me.
I played also unpluged. No comparison at all, thumb was so full.
I dont think i have played better mass production bass.Thump had a pro tone who fits any style, except for blues rock maybe.
I want it, but the neck has a twist.Bass side B has a 0.6 relief, and G almost no relief.I prefer a straight neck.I dont know if this is fixable

Price is 800 euros, good price i think.
Maybe i san swap the wenge neck from my corvette.....

800 is too much for a thumb BO with a problem neck.
You can get a perfect one for that kinda money.
