Tuners for Jazzman-5 prices

Hey all!

So I have been looking into replacing the stock tuners on my '02 corvette jazzman for a while. Partly due to balance and also the gold finish is starting to wear off

Obviously searched these forums here and found out about the lightweight schaller and hipshots out there. The only problem I found is the price. I've found prices ranging from £50ish to £70 PER TUNER! So for a 5 string that would be £250-£350. Sorry but is that for real? Am I looking at the wrong shops?

It just seems so damn steep for some tuners. Yes I'd happily pay 100-150 or so for some highend tuners MAX. Heck my Aguilar preamp was a cheap upgrade compared...

I've been checking e-bay for a while but it's quite a rare item to pop up. Many of the listings are from hong kong with cheap knock off products.

I wouldn't mind saving some weight at the headstock to counter the slight neck-dive I have though. Thought I might be able to get 2 birds with 1 stone

Yes, it is expensive. On the other hand, if you love your bass, and don't plan to sell it, then you know... you will have the new tuners for many many years, so it is not really a big deal if you ask me.
