Tubepath on 2 ohm?

Short question:

Will a Tubepath run on a 2 ohm load, without becoming unstable and hot as hell's basement? I know it's not what Warwick suggests, but sometimes amps can go just that bit farther

Please enlighten me!

I'd avoid it. I was talkign to repair guy when my WT800 was being fixed and he mentioned that most decent amps can go as low as 2ohms, they just draw more current.

It won't screw your amp up instantly but doing this a lot will reduce its life. I'd stick with the ratings the cabs is specified at. Even if it means having to hunt around for a particular cab to match, or having to compromise a little on setup.

Warwick specifies 4 ohms.Going to 2 ohm will void your warranty & more than likely,damage the amp.

+1 on what Greg said.

If 2 ohms is important, get an amp that can do it. Your tubepath prob will do it for some time - but it will shorten the life and void the warrantee. Not a risk I'd be taking.

K thanks guys I was just wondering 'cause a friend of mine needs a new amp that can do 2 ohms without problems and he might like the Tubepath.
