Tubepath contour question

Just a quick question...

Does anybody know if the contour feature in the Tubepaths is tube-based or solid state-based. After all it boosts highs and lows, so I reckon there has to be some active element in there? When I take a look at the scematics, I see it's placed behind the second stage, but there seems to be no link with any of the preamp tubes... or am I wrong?

Not that it's that important, but I'm just curious how it works
