Another question... how well shielded are these amps? Does anyone know if they have toroidal transformers?

My last experience with an amp with a big transformer wasn't great - I got a loud hum far louder than could be expected.

I'm wondering if I'll get a similar problem with this amp...

All our amps have toroidal transformers. Didn't noticed hum on these amps so far

the x-treme 5.1 is fantastically quiet, even when cranked up. the fan you can just about hear when you turn the amp on in a quiet room but it isnt noticable at all.

as for volume, the 5.1 will give you oodles of volume. you can play very large stages with it and have plenty of power
