I was driving home and I drive this way alot and have been noticing a transparent blue rb corvette std in the window of this music shop (blue dot guitars - in oregon city, or) So after staring at it for over a month now everytime I drive by I had to stop and try it out. Other than the guy being a bit snobby and the store having a horrid selection of instruments... It's an ok store
I plugged er into a little kustom bass amp... Fiddled with the knobs a bit and the tone that came out of that bass was amazing. I'm usually not a fan of ash/alder & maple... But this bass sounded awesome... It's very very very warm sounding but still have a little of that warwick tone... I figure its the mecs. I couldnt get a good slap tone out of it... I figure its due to the way the guy set it up and the strings... But with a low action and some d.r. highbeams... I bet that would of sounded awesome for slapbass. The weight really surprised me... It has to be the lightest bass I've ever played. Compared to my 6 string thumb bo... its a feather.
I have a feeling... If it came down to a US fender jazz or that rockbass corvette... I'd have to go with the corvette... That beats by far hands down any us fender I've ever played. I'm surprised at the quality and tone you get for under $500... Awesome instrument
