Truss rod help !!!

Hi ,my truss rod is stripped.I would like to know if I can change it by myself or I have to get this done by a pro luthier ? Also I would like to know wich one I have to buy cause there's two diferent ones in the Warwick shop?..and last thing, how do I take it out...do I just have to turn it counterclockwise and then put it upside down?....forgot to tell you that it's a 2002 Streamer LX 5.

Take it to your Warwick reseller or to a pro.
 
So obvious, the answer is that you cannot change it by yourself. Welcome to the forum!
 
I suppose the trussrod is fine but the nut is worn

in this case this has to be done

remove the upper part of the fretboard (with hot steam)

take out the worn nut

detach the new nut from the new trussrod (630mm) from the warwick shop (the nut alone is not available)
and mount it on the old truss rod

then glue the FB back on, do some sanding and if you are unlucky a little fretjob:-)

This should be done by somebody with some experience, but is not a big deal as you do not have to remove
the entire fretboard and the trussrod. Which would require a fretjob and even a refretting if you are unlucky:-/

Well,thank you all.I bought that bass last friday and didn't think to look at the rod,probably because I trusted the guy...stupid me !!!! I sold my Corvette $$ to buy this one. Ok,got a go kill myself now....and will give you an update of that story soon.
 
Hi MrFreeze, I am sorry to hear that. But don't be too upset, your bass can and will be fixed, and the STreamer LX is an amazing bass IMHO....
 
A side note here will it ever be possible to replacement nuts for trussrods? it seems that most replacements are needed beacuse the nut is stripped, not the thread on the rod itself. Is there any reason only whole rods are available as spares?

I even thought of having 200-300 produced and sell them:-)

However the whole trussrod is rather cheap so ...
