Hi. I own 4 Corvettes. Best build is a custom shop 4 $$ fretless with a fat neck, around 2010. My first Warwick is a 4 $$ fretted from around 2008, whose truss rod was binding, was then broken by the luthier, and so the neck is being replaced (order is in). My main bass is a $$ 5 tuned EADGC fretted, again around 2009, and it turns out that its neck is also acting up, with probably rust or something else binding the truss rod. The luthier (not the one who broke the other truss rod) is looking into this but I think we will end up replacing the neck. The fourth is a 5 standard which is kept on the back shelf and tuned BEADG. It does not get too much playing or attention. I obviously love the instruments. The fat necks allow for broad timbre and with the power of the preamps I like the sounds I can get. But there seems to be some issue with the truss rods. I use low action, so between set ups use the truss rod to keep things in order. I put them through GK biamps with proper GK cabinets designed for the amp. I put the fretless through one of the old GK 200MBs the upright players love.
