To cruise, or not to cruise?

I was just perusing some info on my car, and I came to a realization:

I never, ever, even on long trips, use the cruise control in my car.

I used it once when I got the car a year and a half ago, but not a single time since.

So, yeah. That's my story.
 
It's because you want to control your GAS.
 
My car, here in Madrid, doesn´t have cruise control. But, I went to Florida (USA) last novenber and we rented a nice big car with it. I used the cruise a lot when driving the I-95 or every highway we took, and it was fun. :)
 
I use it on the highway, it helps keep me to the speed limit or at least reasonably close. When I forget to use it I tend to let my foot get a little heavier and heavier until I get a speeding ticket for 25 miles an hour over the limit. Im sorry, 80 mph is not excessive in my opinion.

Always. Even in town if it's a long distance between lights. Like Randy, I have a super heavy right foot.
 
Hah! When I read the title, I was expecting something like "I have an opportunity to play bass for a Caribbean cruise line this winter...should I do it?" The actual thread was very different...

And yes...I frequently use cruise control...
 
i thought you were thinking of getting a hammer cruise bass ha ha. no i don't like it and never use it in my truck.even on long trips.if traffic wasn't so bad by me i would get a standared to no automatic.but sitting in bumper tp bumper for hours with a stick shift sucks.
 
On the highway, all the time, except in heavy traffic. I like to be able to move my legs around on a long trip, or I get bad burning in my thighs. It also improves your mileage a lot.
 
When I lived in Germany I used the cruise all the time on the Autobahn. When I lived in the continental U.S. I used it on long open road trips. Now that I live in Hawaii, there just isn't enough road long enough to use it. Cruise control and XM radio, 2 "extras" my car came with that I've never been able to use.
 
My car does not have this feature. If it did, I do not think I would not use it.

Use it all time in and out of town, keeps me from getting speeding tickets (I also have my speedo set to beep / alarm at 80 mph).
 
...on long trip. I lived in Florida and it was about 8 hours just to get out of the state. It also saved me from many speedtraps! Georgia, worst state to be pulled over in
 
Used it all the time when I've driven hire cars in the US.... could just set it and go to sleep on rhe back seat! In England you'll never find a bit of open road to use it
