I went to Taiwan Warwick distributor 2 days ago, I saw some stock, 2 fire Thumb, a 2004 Buzzard Ltd...., if they are in new "price", I may take them home...

I played those old stocks and some Streamer $$, maybe is the small fender amp, they sounds so so. In the other showroom, a new coming TM steven PRO, I played in with bigger fender amp, the sounds is good, looks cheap but sounds good, I am always wonder the sounds of Korea made Warwick, now I would like to have some artists model now, unfortunately, the price for new warwick is way experience than before, or I will buy TM, BOOTSY, SZ and P-Nut for my collection.
 
Well, a good amp is important to have an idea of the amp. Fender small amps have a dull sound, and a nasty limiter...

Joe, if you seriously want to judge Warwick basses through a little cheap Fender rumble amp you're doing it wrong! Please do use a proper amp for serious basses man...
 
Thanx Marco, just what I thought.

And agree 100% with you. You won´t test a Ferrari in a small town street, you use the "Autobahn".
 
for the purchase of some korean artist model, you'll have to sell your dolphin to me.
or else the basses will be cursed and sound like crap in your hands...
 
Those 'fire' basses always remind me a bit of Freddie Krueger of Niki Lauda. Love both the guys, so no problem.

No I don't. I can buy them all but I won't, I don't agree with the price now.

Sorry, you can not have my Dolphin BN 5, I have thinking of him over 10 years, you can custom build yours, it should cost you US3500 last year I check, I I don't understand what you said cursed and sounds crap in my hand, is that a joke or offence?

For the amp, I agree a good amp is important, but today I play a rockbass streamer 4 in a 60w guitar amp, sounds good. I don't understand.

My Warwicks sound great even in a US100 Taiwan made amp....maybe the cable in the showroom is broken, I don't think the 60w fender amp is a big problem.
 
HAve you played through a small fender amp? they are always the problem....yerg

hey joe, i would never offend a forumer here. well... there was maybe one guy i wasn't nice to but i probably wasn't the only one and this guy is beeing banned so...

... take this as a joke under us forumers:) but if you ever want to sell it, i will be your adress;)

I think I cannot have a decent idea in the shop no matter what good the amp is... I always buy the bass first, haha!
If the amp is small ( 60w IS small) you don't hear all the frequencies, if you test it on a full rig Hellborg, it might look better than it actually is :)
To me the only test is in a band, because there I can see if there are no boomy notes, I can see the definition, etc...
Lucky for us, all Warwick basses are good, so you will not have a surprise here, so you can test any Warwick on any amp' haha. If you like the sound texture, and the way it plays in your hands just buy it, it will be great in the mix.

Another factor in shops, especially for new old stocks, is that the bass can have a bad setup, and bad strings...

I think it is a joke, just need to make sure....they want us3100 for the fire thumb 4......I need to let him go
 
Why does a Warwick distributor only let you use a small Fender amp to demo basses with?
Why not a good (Warwick) amp?
 
I guess any Warwick and bass will show its potential on a BC40. Honest amp.
