Today i got some Bartolini CBJD L1/LN1 and Bartolini NTMB3 pre-wired to some MEC pots.

Wow what a difference. Tamed some of the unpleasant treble I find with the MEC stuff. Beautiful warm, round phat tone. The mid control really adds some growl and kick - its unlike any other mid i've ever used, it really affects the whole tone.

Definantly a change for the better to my ears!
 
Indeed. Bartolini and Warwick is a match made in heaven.
 
Sorry mate, couldn't organise that. I should have, but didn't.

Suffice to say, I love the changes - but it might not be for everyone. Its lost a bit of the crispness up top, so slappers might not like it. It does bring out that low mid growl like nothing though!

I don't know Luke!

To be honest, I think its the Bart preamp that really gettings things going. The pickups are ok...but the pre is amazing!!
 
The bart pre-amp is very silent and neutral if set flat (in contrast to the mec). But I'd rather say that the voice of the Barts is
what makes the change.

The wonderful Luke Eberbach just installed a set of the Bart pickups in my Ash Vette as well - sound great and really bring out the deep lows of the ash. He also did a great fret polish for me too, thanks Luke!

Luke seems to be an extraordinarily nice guy. If everyone was like him this planet had no problems :P

Actually... that would be bad... everyone would have uncontrollable GAS, and be bankrupt, and there wouldn't be enough Ash 'Vettes to go around!

HAHAH!

I've actually left the rounds on it - I think flats would be a bit too thuddy with the darker voiced barts. I used it yesterday with rounds and it sounded fantastic!
