Thumb BO and Thumb BO Broadneck

I wonder what the differences are apart from the obvious broadened neck, does anybody know more about these broadnecks? are they, for example, notally different from the standard neck ones?

I would like to know too, I had a BO Thumb 6, sell him for a Buzzard, the Thumb BO is too hard to slap.....I should buy a BN.....

I have had both, not at the same time though.

The split coil Soapbars are a little fatter and wider sounding.

The J pups are perhaps more midrangy and focused.

I actually like the sound of the soaps with the bass EQ cut a little. It's more jagged sounding than the standard J's. Take all this with a grain of salt because this is based on my memory of the standard spacing Thumb.

IMO the 5 string Broadneck is the most comfy Warwick neck. It is a flattened U- shape which is thick but not overly so. Honestly, I don't know how I played the standard spacing for 9 years. Oh yeah, the broadneck balances better and is more comfy overall... To me!

Many Thanks Noodles, to be honest; i have had the standard BO5 i found it to be a very good, but also a very difficult beast, to name a few things, the neck dive..... you know if you tried it. and the higher notes (strings) which tend to be very tight and focussed but also very trebly that's why i want to know if it is tonewise different and you answered that. thanks

I must add the lower strings are to die for, almost piano tight, incredible, that was the thing i always liked aboud the standard BO, to hear that the BN has a better balance and easier tone makes me realy think about a purchase right now.

Does anyone have an indication about the price of a BO broadneck 5?, or else is 900 euro's to much?

The US price is $4300 for the Thumb 5 + $700 for the Broadneck. Don't now the European prices. You looking at a used one?
