This is a clip of me playing a Thumb 5 Nt, im more of a rock player funk player, but decided to to something a bit different this time around. Let me know what you think!

Did you write this little thing just for fun or are you building something? If the bass were *slightly* more discrete, which is kind of hard to do I know, it would make some nice background music for a computer game or something like that. Something like a RTS involving war and blood. :)
 
Im actually gonna keep building on to it, but i will keep that into consideration, thanks for the feedback!
 
Man, what's the equipment you used? It sounds like it is recorded with top quality equipment in a very good studio...

Oh, and keep us updated! :)
 
Thanks man i recorded it in my basement, First i got new strings... I plugged into an "Avalon 737 Pre" directly in the front instrument input, used mild Compression to keep levels from clipping on the harsh attacks, i am against using amp DI and Micing Speakers for bass in the studio becuase of noise problems..plus I really Like to capture the sound of the" instrument" anyways. I set Both pickups Full and in Active mode, Treble 100% Bass Boosted and Mids Flat, Then the signal was transferd into Protools Hd where i could then add cool sound effects and add and map out the drums.

Have you tried Avalon U5 DI before choosing 737preamp?
Probably preamp is more versatile tone wise? Could you share your opinion on this?
 
Odd... I was just listening to it while playing, and according to my ears that background sound in the beginning is out of tune, between C and C#. :)

I have the Avalon U5 Di, its a nice peice for live and studio.. but if your running DI from an amp its going through too many sources..to achive the same effect as pluggin directly in. plus your running more cables and that breaks the tone up a little bit, i find that the bass is more responsive, more accurate and clear just plugging straight in. If you have a good bass and Pre amp thats all you really need, the Avalon Pre acts as the amp in my case. I have nice heads too, like the SVT 4 Pro, and an Eden WT800 which are awesome for plugging cabs into and for playing live, but i still like the avalon better in the studio. Im all about simplicity and convience. Thanks for the feedback guys i will keep posting!
