Looked through all the threads and those on the web. Just bought a 4" Neotec Mega Strap and it did not help. Saw some post about raising the position of the rear strap button but would really like a picture. It's my best sounding bass but holding it up for 4 hours just kills me. My fender J is perfectly balanced so I tend to use it more. I tried to extend the horn button by 2" but it was unsightly. Please help.

Is it really diving south down? If it retains a near horizontal position, it's normal for a warwick thumb. Strap it higher to chest and you will have a bass played like seated, when standing up.

No prob with mine, but I, too, play it rather high on the chest. I use a 4.5in wide Levy's MSS2-4 strap.

If you can't tolerate "unsightly" then you just gotta suffer. Mice elf, I'll
take unsightly every time it solves a problem. Full disclosure: I will do
cheap and reasonable tricks to minimize "unsightly" where possible.
OTOH, I've wound up with a few kinda weird looking minor mods ...

BTW, I've never found a grippy strap to be a useful solution to a short
top horn. It fails to actually balance the ax, but adds an additional pain
to the imbalance, cuz a grippy strap just causes the weight of the neck
to pull my shirt around and strangle me with the collar. Not cool.

Here's my solution to my thumb neck dive, adjusted my strap pins on both my thumb 5's
Hope this helps

I once had a Thumb BO 4 string and its neck dive was worse than my current Thumb NT's.
At that time I used a wide leather strap and it didn't slip on my shirts. It PULLED my shirts so hard.
Once I also had a BO 5 broad neck. It had better balance due to its REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY heavy body.

To me the most fundamental solution is to strap it high so your right lower arm can hold the body down.
Ultralite tuners and heavier brass bridge would help too.

wonder if Thumb BO4s from different years have this problem.
I have a 2008 Thumb BO4 and it doesn't neck dive.
I usually use a thick, leather strap, as it goes with the dark, woody look, so well.
After reading this thread, I put on a bog standard, Fender strap and still, no problem.
I have it reasonably high but not that high. It sits diagonally, in my preferred playing position. and doesn't budge, when i let go of the bass.
Now i think about it, there is a little more pressure on the front end of the strap but the neck stays put, held or not.
Just lucky, I guess.
Sorry to hear of your problem but I think a guitar tech could help you and the Warwick tone has got to be worth fighting for.
Good luck.
