Thinking of buying a thumb BO5

Here´s the deal: I´m looking to buy an used Thumb BO5 and a guy send me these pictures of the bass he´s selling. Everything seems to be fine, though, the woods of the body looks kinda weird, I mean, I know these Thumbs are made out of three pieces of ovankol, but they always kinda "match" each other, and it´s hard to notice where the pieces are glued. In this bass, on the other hand, the pieces of the body are so diferent that you can see them. (Look at the pic attached)

Is this normal?

the 3 pieces body are quite rare on the Thumb BO. The woods are fine I assure you. Check this one:

Straight from the warwick website. See the pieces don't match that well and the grain is different too.

Anyway, let me tell you my story of me and my thumb BO 5:
I always wanted a warwick thumb 5, so I bought one, and been GAS-less since then (2 years ago).
 
Once you hear the tone of a Thumb BO,it's appearance will never cross your mind again.
Trust me.

Lasteffect: The price is OK, not a steel, but a great deal for an used Thumb BO5 with hard case.

flipper: I´ve seen that pic many times before, but wanted to hear your expert opinions. =)

Greg: I know exactly what you mean. Like a year ago I visited a music store near town, and they had just received a Thumb BO4. They use to have plenty of Fenders and Ibanez and stuff, but only 2 Warwicks: A Corvette STD 5 and this Thumb, and I talk to the guy to let me try both. I picked up the Corvette, tried it for few minutes and then grabbed the Thumb. The second I started playing it thru the amp I was sold... I knew I had to have one of these beasts.

I love my P-bass´ sound, its a wonderfull instrument, but now I need the other side, the modern growl of a Thumb. 8:
