Think I found a 1990 custom Warwick the other day at local GC ( yes I nabed it :)

How are you going to explain the 6 bolts in the back. If the owner and CEO has never seen it, it cant be real. Even if it was a prototype at one time, it was a tester bass that should not have got loose. Maybe it was a side project from an employee of Warwick. Im not going to try and figure it out. Fact is I can never sell it as a genuine Warwick.

Im waiting for the manager at GC to read this thread and call me back, and see if we can come to some sort of agreement

I think under the red finish the body is original including the hardware and electronics. The neck and neck joint is definitely not Warwick. Personally I think the neck broke or broke off near the heel which may have led to some upper body damage which is why there's 6 bolts and a fake neck through look. It seems to me by the pics that whoever did the work did a really nice job. That being said, it's probably a really nice playing and sounding bass but if you were after a genuine, untouched Warwick this is not it. At least only half of it is from what I can see from the pics.
 
Just to give you a headsup, Im taking the bass back. The neck joint is too high for the bridge. Ive been tweaking it all morning. Floating bridge and saddles are high as everything can go, whilst still being able to lock down each individual saddle, and action is too low.

Bummer.

Plus its all scratched up, and has deep gouge's in it.

Its going to be at the GC at Lovers in Dallas

My guess is GC will eat the cost of the bass and do away with it or an employee will buy it for cheap. They can't really put it up for sale again since it's been put out that it's not genuine. I guess they could advertise as "Warwick body/custom neck" - but Jose said he can't even get it set up properly.

I have it set up pretty good right now. This is definately a BEATER bass though, Scratches all over it,

Someone will be happy with it I know.

I have a 4000 dollar Brubaker in pawn, or I might have kept it ;)

If I ever buy a Warwick, I'll come hollar at ya'll again :) Take care all

1500$? That was not cheap, you did the right thing... When you see another Warwick, email me at [email protected] with details and pics, and I will try to give you a good advice before buying it :)
