So... I purchased a brand new Thumb BO last night.

Ya know....just an ordinary, little old Thumb BO.... No big deal. Bunch of em out there. Yada yada yada.




She arrives next week. I'll post some pics in da club when it does.

Now, I'm going to go see "I am Legend" w/Will Smith in the theater...i hear it's supposed to be decent.

Yep, Mark at Warwick Depot. I had seen it before but figured it was used...obviously. Nope. Brand New. Well, NOS technically. I literally had to do a double take when I read the "who we are" on his website....where it says all their stock is brand new, tags and all. Could not believe he has NOS of some Amazing Wicks, for prices that are way better than most all used ones.

He still has a 2008 Streamer LX 4 LTD for an UNBELIEVABLE price of $1823. It's brand new! It's listed higher, but he told me yesterday I could tell people about this even deeper discount. Also, he has a 2008 LTD Nobby that he will sell for $1740. Brand new people. Amazing.

Last but not least....he has a few Streamers and Corvettes I think....and a broadneck Thumb BO 5 for like $1400. BRAND NEW. He purchased 140 basses from Dana B. Goods when they stopped their partnership with Warwick. He said he has like 20 left.

People in the states especially need to check him out. I still can't believe I just bought a brand new Falmin' Blonde LTD Never ever would have thought that was possible in 2015.

Yeah, that is too bad there is SO much extra cost for international shipping. It's nearly 2016....should this really still be the case? Silly. I guess when businesses and government are used to making a certain amount of money off of something....it would be hard to reverse that. Hopefully at least it can be frozen and not get worse/more expensive than it already is.

I thought for sure some of the gems Warwick Depot has, that it would still be worth it. I mean $1400usd for that Broadneck Thumb BO, NOS 2008, is simply amazing.That would be $1950aus. Shipping...add another 300-400? Then taxes and customs.... what do you think those would cost? Grand total on a $1400usd bass to get to Australia? Nearly $3000 ya think?

Though, gotta say....considering this is new old stock, never played, tags/strap locks still hanging on it... $3000 +/- for either that LTD Nobby, LTD Streamer, or Thumb BO...would still seem to be a pretty good deal on a "brand new" Wick.

I must admit....I really hope that Streamer LTD LX4 is still available in like 3-4 months. Time capsules like this don't happen very often. These have to be some of the last NOS 2007, 2008's on the planet.

Well, shipping is at least $100 to $150
Then you have VAT of 20% calculated on the price of the guitar+shipping. (yes, I know).
Then you have Custom rate for musical instrument 4% (calculated on the total price, including transport and VAT, yes, a tax on the Tax)
Then the 20/40€ for UPS or DHL to make the Custom's declaration.
Let's say you order on the magnificient Warwickdepot.com the splendid Streamer Double Buck 4-String Nirvana Black. $1190

Bass : 1190 USD
Shipping : 150 USD
Balance in € : with the PayPal rate : 1€= 1.07USD = 1253€
VAT at destination : 20%x1253 = 250€
Import Tax : 60€
DHL Fees : 40€

1253+250+60+40 = 1603€
Base price in € : 1110€.
At least 500€ to add for shipping and taxes. ie, 50% of the base price.
It's still a semi decent deal for a NOS.
