The Wife/ Girlfriend/ Significant other - of the month Award

In order to fulfil my wife's wishes for me to buy a beautiful bass I brought home a 'Vette STD Ash today!

I played a $$ 'Vette with a Tas Blackwood top, a gorgeous flamed/spalted maple Streamer LX and the 'Vette STD Ash.

Regardless of price - I prefered the feel and tone of the humble Ash 'Vette.

She's all mine - and now at home to take her place next to her Bubinga brother!

:d :d :d

My girlfriend just asked me if I want a fretless/piezo version of my Cort for christmas. One like this:

Plus, she agreed that when time for buying a new Streamer LX comes, it has to be a CS one, with ebony fretboard and matching headstock. And she's paying for those extras :)

My X girlfriend said that i spend to much time playing bass.
I respond with good bye.

We gotta have awards for the worst ones also.

Yeah, my ex first asked me out because she was impressed with my playing. Then, as soon as half year later she was rather like: "it's either me or the music"...

I know my boyfriend wouldn't look as sexy on a calender as the warwick wives but i thought the thread was a nice idea and this warranted a mention...

Last year i decided to sell up and head overseas 'indefinately'. My boyfriend (justin) was pretty upset and insisted i sell my infinity to him as it was my pride and joy and he 'didn't want someone else to own it' and he outright gave me $4000 for it.
After only 2 months of isolation knee deep in buffalo ♣♣♣♣ in some remote part of Laos i decided i should probably go back home and even though i had broken off the relationship to go overseas Justin came round when i got home and gave me back my bass as a present ;)

And while i never want to see my boyfriend in a girly shirt i would totally be happy to chip in for some kind of award for the wives and girlfriends :D

I know it's not a competition, but i feel i am really lucky, the woman behind this Warwick player has always been 100% fine with me buying gear (and trust me, i buy LOTS), has never asked me to sell gear and never stops or interrupts my practice.

She's always 1st to offer a hand with the bands equipment (before even some members of the band...), always happy to drive us to the studio, rehearsal room or gigs.

She bought me the reissue P-Bass you can se in some of my photos, as she "couldn't think of anthing else to get me..." and bought me a Boss DR880 as I complained i wasn't practicing enough...

Also, she can identify the sounds of various basses (Stingray vs Jazz Bass etc) without seeing the player. Considering she doesn't play an instrument herself, i think that's pretty impressive.

She hasn't bought me a Warwick yet, but we'll see. I'm wondering if she'd let me off with a Dolphin, as she has a thing for the Namesake creature.

So, although she may not qualify for Warwick woman of the month, i'd like to raise my hat to My Yvonne - Currently 40+ Weeks pregnant with our 1st baby, who apparently doesn't want to come out.

She actively encourages my playing, inspires me, and motivates me to keep playing. And even though we're evolving into a family, she's not expecting a dramatic change. It's refreshing as so many of my friends partners think we musicians are fancifully chasing our childhood dreams, and should go out and get 'proper' jobs.

I know a guy who bought a Gibson Les Paul had to buy a handbag of an equivallent value to appease his 'partner'. What a Bullcrap scenario to be in.

Luckily, Yvonne doesn't need £1500 handbags.

Your first child, this is so nice... You should expect some dramatic changes buddy. OMG... you have no Idea :-)
Good job!

Well, if we are here, I would like to mention my wife - Lucia
We are together for over 10 years. She always encouraged me to play, to study...
9 years ago, when I asked, she left everything - job, friends, and moved to Bucharest with me when I got my first job as a pro.
She gave me a beautiful child 3 years ago, and she took good care of both of us, since I was a lot on tour, and when I was home I was dead tired...
This year, she left again everything - she was a leading actress at the biggest animation theater in Romania - and she moved with me to Sibiu.
She was always by my side, no matter what, she is an incredible patient and generous person. Even now when we are almost broke, she did let me buy a new Warwick, and an upright, and she looks to be happy for me :-)
I love her!
I have pic for the calendar too :-)

Warwick players get best women :)
You have a wonderful, and very beautiful wife, Florin. I also have some pics:

I decided not to upload those actually 'sexy', because then she'd probably kill me :)

One more thing: she really loves to sit on my cab, when I'm playing low notes loud ;)

Here's a picture of my lovely wife Hayley and our two beautiful kids on a recent family outing to Puffing Billy (a popular steam train ride here in Melbourne).

My wife is pretty cool too...

She lets me build basses, and is even encouraging me in the "turning this into a business" side of my bass-design work... :)

Oh, and she lets me tie her up and take pictures...

you're a talented man, Jan ;)

and when I see pictures like that of Luke's sweet family, I really want to have kids soon. I'd say that I've made some effort last night, but it wouldn't be true - babies definitely are not being made THAT way :-P

mmmkay, my girlfriends all sucked at supporting me at what I love the most. @#%*&!!!

My wife has been very supportive(since i stopped partying anyway). She let me buy a thumb and turn right around and trade up to SSI. This was 6 months, maybe less, after i bought my Vette! Now if she will only let me buy this Vintech 273!!!!????!!??? She is hot and bakes cakes too!!! :)

On the other hand she WILL NOT let me tie her up:(

So, although she may not qualify for Warwick woman of the month, i'd like to raise my hat to My Yvonne - Currently 40+ Weeks pregnant with our 1st baby, who apparently doesn't want to come out.

Baby Ella Maria Travis was born at 1.40pm today. A beautiful little girl.
