So I've come up with an idea to help anyone who has a question about a certain basses sound and how it compares to another. To help with the idea I'm going to setup these polls that have a scale from 1 to 5. 1 being a hi-fi sound and 5 being a traditional sound. I know you can get a hi-fi or traditional sound after a bit of tweaking but for accuracy only judge based on how the bass sounds with a flat EQ and the PUPs in the middle. After a few weeks of the polls being up I'm going to take the info. from the polls and put it in a graph form with pictures and such. This will hopefully end some of those "how does this bass sound compared to this bass" threads.

Please vote only if you have heard, played, or own the bass stated above.

These are really useful polls.Here comes the but.The gap between traditional & HiFi is only covered by 3 numbers.It might just be me,but I'm finding it really difficult to decide.
Traditional=generic P-bass tone with no overdrive at all?
HiFi=completely clean?
I dunno which number applies to what.I hope I'm making some sense & not sounding like I'm bad mouthing what I consider some very useful polls.The effort is much appreciated btw thndrstk. :wink:

The polls are only part of the project. It might be a total waste of time but I just thought it would help. If it seems that these polls are not being used then I will not continue with the project. I'm just sick of seeing "how does this bass compare to this bass" type threads. They seem to just pop up every other day and they all begin and end the same. The idea was to mockup a graph with all the basses on it showing their natural, unaltered tone. That way if anyone had questions they could go to the graph where there would be a description of the tone, sound clips, and even a youtube video. I'm just trying to get an idea as to what everyone else on the forum thinks of the sounds before I make the graph. Like I said, maybe this is just a total joke.

Mate,firstly just let me say I think it's a great idea.It really is.Please dont read my post as saying this is waste of time/space/whatever.I'd love to participate in each thread that I possibly can,but I'm not that familiar with all of the models.
Seth recorded some videos of the model range in June.Hopefully soon,those will be released & these polls,will compliment those & help people decide what model is best suited for them.

Oh I know you weren't downing the polls I can just see how this can go down hill thats all. Thanks for the input anyways. I'm looking forward to that Seth video. It should complement the graph thing well if it works.
