I completely agree! they have a great sound. and very obviously not and entry level bass.

If you listen to the bands like Orgy, Spineshank, Twisted Method and Memento you can tell they use Yamaha AES guitars, their tones are very similar due to the fact their using the same instruments! You can also tell the same about Warwick basses, there's something a little extra no other manufacturer comes close to, regardless who's playing them.

What you call,"twisting the topic",I call lively discussion.If you wanna throw a tantrum whenever someone doesnt agree with you,you're not going to make very many friends here.We try to keep it friendly & respectfull,while having a good time.

You may well be a tone freak,as you so eloquently put it,but this doesnt make your opinion the only correct one.For all anyone knows,you could've been stumbling around in the dark for 11 years,speculating,rather than actually experiencing.I dont wanna go tooting any horns here,but Flo has been a Pro bassist for going on 20 years.Me?My pro days are well & truely behind me,but I like to think I've learned a few things about bass,drums & music in general since embarking on this in about 1982.But that doesnt mean we're walking encyclopedia's,far from it.One thing I CAN guarentee is that we value modesty over ability.There's no point in being the next Jaco,if you're nobody can stand being near you.
Playing another instrument doesnt qualify you over anyone else mate.It doesnt mean crap imho.What makes a guitarist better qualified than a bloody triangle player when it comes to tone?All these,"I dont know if any of you"statements wreak of arrogance.Dont assume if you dont know.
If your RB comes nowhere near your FNA,maybe you need to focus more on your playing.A truely good player will sound good on a $69 plywood nightmare,as well as on their custom shop dream machine.Blaming your gear speaks volumes & is just another silly excuse for less than competant playing.

ThANK YOU Greg, i think the same thing. i think the rock bass tone is an opinion, how it sounds. and frankly i like the sound..

About the woods, the most important thing is the quality, how and how long were they dried. Be sure a 69 EUR bass will not have the same wood as a 6900 EUR maple bass, don't fool yourself.

I like that you say that. i find it very true what you are saying about the players tone. it is totally in how a bass is played. it is the same way with tuba or any other wind instrument. (I play tuba;)) thanks for talking about this.
 
First and foremost I'm not here to make friends! I don't care how you slice it, the greatest guitar player in the world can't make a "plywood nightmare" sound like a dream! A player does have a tone, however my playing style and abilities have nothing to do with the ROCKBASS and Warwick comparison. For a matter of fact, no player and his tone/signature has anything to do with my comparison.

You guys are all message board buddies, I'm a new comer who states the truth between "MY" two basses. Call me arrogant, or call me what you will! No two woods are created equal, just because they use alder and rosewood on high dollar basses doesn't mean Warwick is buying the same quality of woods for their ROCKBASSES. Obviously cost cutting has to be done on the ROCKBASSES and the woods used are a great spot to start.

My comments about "I don't know if any of you" were out of kindness, when I could of said "none of you know". You guys totally twisted my words and turned it into the exact opposite. All I said was, the ROCKBASS is no Warwick and anyone who isn't a fan boy will tell you the exact same thing! If the ROCKBASS were indeed a true Warwick they would've shut the German plant down years ago, China would have been an absolute gold mine due to production and labor costs. If the ROCKBASSES are so superb there wouldn't be a need for the ROCKBASS logo on the headstocks. Point made, my lost post concerning this topic!!!
 
Hi Resist the System.

I think some sort of misunderstanding started this little fight. I guess it is not bad to have friends here on the forum. We all were newbies anyway.

I am having a problem seing wher actually is the fight, I think everybody here agrees that Rockbass is not as good as Warwick.
But some people may like some Rockbass model better than some Warwick model.

Read it again, dude. I assure you nobody is here to pick a fight. Just because someone has an opinion, it doesn't mean they're telling you that YOU'RE wrong (with the exception of wood pricing, but you should listen to Florin about that because he actually distributes Warwick basses for his country)

Swamp ash body, bolt on maple neck, 2 band MEC active electronics, With a few differences I just described a Streamer $$ (bass of the year) and an RB Fortress.
 
All I can Say Is I love My Warwick RB Corvette Basic 5 string. It Is without a doubt The Best Bass I have ever owned. I used my ibanez 6 string as my main bass for 10 years. But when i got this wick rb, i think the good ole ibanez is taking a back seat. This thing is a beast.
