The Heads Up Thread

I saw that P-Nut sell too. Surprised to see it up, but that's a steal at that price assuming there's nothing wrong with it. I guess someone could perhaps not find the bass to their liking... But that person would be wrong!

Eghhh

Seeing basses change hands really quickly like this (at what looks like none if any, profit?) makes me naturally pull away.

Make me think there is an issue,

In this case id want to get my hands around it before buying it and for such an astronomical price.

I would agree with that. I'm always hesitant when I can't discuss with the seller first, which is why I prefer using talkbass over eBay, but at least eBay still has some measure of protection.

I'm just surprised at the price. I've been looking for a 5 string SSII since last fall and haven't found anyone listing for less than that P-Nut! Part of me knows it's people over valuing their basses, but it also makes me wonder if there is something wrong with the P-nut, or if he just got a good deal and wants it gone quick. You'd think he'd list on talkbass too though.

The Pnut didn't sell. It's relisted. Same prices as before.

Anyone feeling brave ?

Here are some interesting finds:

Corvette $$ NT 5-string:

Corvette $$ BO 5-string fretless:

Thumb NT 4 with the rather uncommon 7-ply Bubinga/Ovangkol neck:

Uh, a Streamer STD 4:

That's definitely bubinga. No purpleheart here (or am I missing some kind of joke?) :)

Stunning, almost new Thumb 5 CS. Walnut body with Wenge top, Wenge neck, EMGs, but...

4000 €

Here's an Infinity in everyone's beloved SN config, shipped from Britain:

(anyone figure out what the hell the purpleheart remark was about??)

I don't "get" Warwick putting EMG Thunderbird pickups on basses. All EMG pickups are the same. Depending on the magnet width, there's no difference between a TBJ, J, and 35J pickup other than the casing.

Because he's a dumbass that has the bridge rotated 180 degrees and now he cant reach intonation screws.

I think he did it (180) to be able to get the saddles on b and e back to maximum
to adjust the intonation properly with low action.
Does not change the fact that it wasnt the smartest of all ideas:)

You can adjust intonation for the E and B to maximum in the normal position too if you remove the springs.
Also, the bridge is totally bottomed out which means the truss rod/neck hasnt been adjusted in a long time or is broken.
