The Great Rockbass Renovation project

On further investigation I found that orange peel isn't caused by a rough surface underneath the paint - it's caused by holding the spray can too far from the surface. So all the sanding was a waste of time! Anyway, lesson learnt, I was able to spray a bit more gloss on and get a slightly better finish. It's a long way from perfect, but I think it's the best I'll manage. If it bugs me then, sometime, I can just strip it all off and start again!

I've begun the process of removing the masking, but haven't done the bridge pickup routing yet. But here's what it might look like when the bass is put together:

Fortunately I'm still loving the black and white combination!

Yes, I've been thinking about getting the headstock W sticker. But even without the postage costs, 14 euros is a bit expensive for a sticker! And do I put it the normal way up, or do I put it upside down to make this an "M" bass (and run the risk of people thinking it's a MacDonalds bass!) ....
Any suggestions would be gratefully received!!

Imho Warwick should send ya da sticker for free for da awesum job ya do turning their 'failure' into this awesum white beauty ...I think she deservez da W now more than evah ;)

(btw...no offence: with failure I mean da wrong placed bridge/pupz)

Hmm, that would be nice!

And no problem: I understood exactly what you meant about the "failure". The bass really was a QC disaster when I got it!

Thanks. Yes, I think that's what I'll go for when I've saved up enough for the sticker ;)

In the meantime, however, ..... it's finished. I realized the paint took a lot longer to cure than I expected (you can paint over in 15 minutes, but it can take days to cure completely), so took a few days off and then put everything together and wired it all up. So here's how it looks now:

The new sound is good too. I'll see if I can get some sound clips up before too long.
 
I love basses with contrast on them, I guess you can't have more than this. :)
