Tell Me about my "new" vintage streamer

I was just lucky enough to get this '93 streamer used. I assume it is a '93 b/c the serial number ends with that. Can anyone tell more about it such as the model of streamer or the woods? It is a 4 string bolt on with active electronics. The finish is beat but play great. It has a brass nut and frets but the nut is free floating. Is that supposed to be that way or does it need to be glued? Can you suggest something that will improve the finish?

You have an old STreamer Bold On. Cherry body, Wenge neck, Wenge fingerboard.
You need to add a drop of superglue to fix the nut.

About improving the finish, this is the forum's speciality, do a forum search with "refinish" or something :-)

Thanks Guys, I don't think it's a wenge neck..it looks like maple or ash to me. I will sand it and wax the heck out of it to see what that does. I will also try to steam the dings/dents. I am a little nervous about the super glue though...but what the heck.

Florin can you do something to make the pic upload more intuitive a lot of people seem to have problems with the way it is now?
 
Hey all, It does seem to be a '93 streamer bolt on. Cherry body, maple neck and wenge fretboard. Serial # A-000096-93. I steamed the dings and was amazed at the results. Next will be a quick sanding, maybe a touch of oil and then wax. Btw I got this bass plus an swr 550x and 2 swr workingman 410s for $1000(US). I will most likely sell the swr stack for $1000(US) and have a free Warwick. Out of curiosity what should have the bass cost me if I had bought it alone?

I find it pretty intuitive. it has 3 windows - one to browse and upload, other to see all your uploaded pics, and the last one (with drag and drop) to attach thepics. You even have the possibility to attach inline, which is a new cool feature.

It is new, give it a chance :-)

i think it's a little less worth than a streamer lx because of the maple neck. but its everybody own opinion of the neck choice/sound and i like it very much.
it doesn't mean that it is not so good like the wenge neck lx. it suits very well and you have a great bass (with a great deal;))!
 
So I refinished it and it looks good, few drops of superglue and the nut is solid, I will post a picture in the next few days. I have been reading about serial numbers and I understand that it was made in January of '93. But am I to understand that this was the 96th streamer ever built, or is it the 96th streamer BO or 96th Bass? Or am I completely off the mark? BTW the serial # is A-000096-93. Also I haven't gotten a sense of the value of this Bass. I like to insure my instruments but have no idea abou tthis one b/c I got it for such a ridiculous package deal. I got this bass plus an swr 550x and 2 swr workingman 410s for $1000(US). I would value the stack at about that much easy...Free Warwick Bass!?!

So a serial number of K-152088-09 (seen on a bass currently on ebay) means Warwick made over 150,000 basses in 2009? That's nearly 500 basses made every day? Can that be right?

Or did they change the serial number system in 1993, and this is the 96th bass made since they changed the numering system? I really have no clue, but I find it easier to believe that Warwick have made about 150,000 basses since 1993 - i.e., about 25 basses a day, than that they're turning out 500 a day.
 
No way we make 500 a day :-))

The system has changed. The number inside is just an internal number now, it doesn't mean it counts the basses :-)
