Hi guys, I wanted to share one of my favourite tricks to you 
SInce I have more than one bass, I keep one with an insanely high action, and play it 99% of the time. It is the only bass I have at hand. At the beginning is hard, then you adapt a bit the left hand technique to have good power in wrist and fingers, and then in a few days you notice you can play almost as good as with low technique. Even slap starts to sound decent after a while
In the meanwhile, I cleaned up my technique, but as a side effect - my musicality too, since I pick with great care the notes I am playing, since they are damn hard to play
Going back to the "stage bass" is awesome, I feel almost limitless in what I can do.
This is by far the best technique booster I can think of, and it is fun
I have about 5mm at G string and 6mm at B string. Also, the sound is awesome
