I got to see it opening day before going into the hospital. Definitely gets my vote for movie of the year and Heath Leger deserves an Oscar, not just because he passed away after filming his role, but for the best performance of The Joker EVER! Creepy to the core!

An interesting thing: They were having a fire drill in my hospital and all I could think of was that scene where The Joker bombs Gotham General... :twisted: :lol:

PS: We need a creepy laughing Joker emoticon!

I understand that Ledger studied Jack Nicolson's Joker performance for months before cultivating his character. Apparently, Heath's character is kind of a younger version of Nicolson's, but much darker. Jack should be flattered as Heath really wanted to do him proud with his version of the Joker.

On a side note...if anyone dresses up as Heath Ledger's joker character for Halloween, they should be slapped for blasphemy! His performance in Dark Knight is that good! :shock:
 
This was an awesome movie. one of the only downsides is Christian Bale's spectacular performance as "The Dark Knight" is overshadowed by Heath Ledger's psycotic embrace of the Joker. Apparently, Jack told Heath "Be careful [with the role]. It will consume you.", and he should know. Also, Jack kept the purple Joker suit from the first Batman movie, even when the studio asked for it back. Jack's answer... "It's my suit."
 
Jack Nicolson is so awesome! I knew a guy that was playing golf at the same time as Nicolson. Jack was smoking a joint and taking his sweet time to tee off every hole. When my friend caught up with him and asked to play through Jack said no problem and offered him a hit from his wacky tobacky cig. My friend didn't take the hit, he doesn't smoke :lol:
