Switching out a Fretted neck with fretless neck....worthwhile??

Hello Folks,

I'm considering the idea of switching out the neck of my fretted Thumb BO6 with a fretless neck.

Has anyone tried a project like this? ...and how did it turn out? ..and what type of wood was used on the neck?

I've not even checked dimensions of the neck that would be required to replace the original. So any feedback whatsoever will be great. I figure if I don't like it, I can always put the original neck back on.


Thx in advance and if there's a thread somewhere on this, please let me know. There's got to be at least a handful of people who've tried this before.

Sure, it's worthwhile if...

a: You want a fretless more than a fretted Thumb.
b: You can source a neck or have one made.

If not, buy a fretless Thumb and have both.
