Switching a Streamer Jazzman for SSI .. good idea?

I can't deny I love my Jazzman, but the bass i have ever wanted is a SS1 .. Advantages and disadvantages that would bring this change?

My goals related to the tone and music style:

-Funk
-Latin Music
-Big round Sound For Balads and stuff like that
-Fusion Jazz Funk

How much can i ask for my Streamer Jazzman 5 strings 2004??

Hey Funkyman, i have had a Jazzman 5 str (2000), sold it for 1100 euros and i bought an SSI 5 stringer (1988) for 1250 euros, the Jazzman is rougher sounding than the SSI, you also have to think of the difference in sustain and feel, the Jazzman is bolt on while the SSI is neck through, also the neck of the SSI is wider. the big round sound is definitely the SSI (much more than the Jazzman), for slap and funk the SSI is just different than the Jazzman, they both sound awesome but the Jazzman is more like the stingray compared to the SSI thats like an........ SSI :) sorry cannot compare cause i did not find a bass thats just like it.

I don't about the price for a used Jazzman but do it man, I got a SSI 5, it is the most usefull bass in the list of my Warwicks, even it doesn't have the strong personality like Thumb, SSII or Buzzard, it should be the must have bass for Warwick fans.

I agree with you about that personallity, i also have got an SSII and have had a Thumb BO, these babies have got personallity, even to much of that sometimes, (i refer mainly to the Thumb)
 
So the SS1 lacks personality? It's true that it sound more like traditional modern yamaha, spector?
 
i wouldn't say that, but it has got some traits any good bass has together with some good Warwick traits like that famous warwick growl and sound that cuts through any mix. bielieve me its a better bass than a Jazzman, especially since its neck through design makes it sustain much longer than the Jazzman

man you have a perfect bass:-)

I would not part with it.

If you have to have a Stage 1 (very understandable) save some money and go get one
they are very affordable (used)
