Hello everyone!
I've had a Sweet 25.1 since June 2008. It's been a rock solid performer in practice and live.
Recently, it started to have some issues relating to volume/power. Best way to describe it is... I'll be playing at normal levels... (Volume at about 85% & Gain at about 55%)...and suddenly the sound will almost completely cut out. You can still hear it, but it's probably only about 10% of the volume.
The cooling fans on the back are working properly it seems. It will return to normal for no reason, if left unplugged for a little while. I thought maybe it was just overheating, but I'm not so sure, as everything seems nice and cool...no abnormal smells etc. I've also tried it with different outlets, guitars/bass' etc... same thing. Power cuts out by about 90% randomly. I've checked the fuses...and they seem to be ok, though they haven't been replaced since I got it in 2008. All transistors etc seem fine to the naked eye.
It's just strange that it will work fine, then cut out for a while, then be fine again. Sometimes it's even made it through a 3 hour practice with no issues. Then the next time, it cuts out after 20 min. Very strange.
Just curious if anyone has experienced this or heard of this or something similar before? Would changing the fuses be the first step, even though they seem fine?
Thanks for any advice!!
Scott
