string tension

After the EMP strings have been recommended by many of you I bought a set for my Alembic 6-string. Compared to other strings, the tension of the EMPs is fairly high (which I really appreciate).

On the other hand, the tension of the black labels on my new Corvette could be significantly higher imho. Is there a difference between EMPs and black labels referring to tension? If so, I would love to get some emps for my Corvette too.

EMPs are the same strings as Black Labels, with the addition of a thin coating that should have no effect on stiffness. I personally don't feel a tension difference between these two set of strings.

many thanks for the information. I still wonder why the tension is so much higher on the Alembic. The EMPs have the same gauge as the Black Labels and both basses have a 34 scale.
