I usually am not into Fender anything but I decided to try some 8250-5M bass strings after seeing them for $25 on Musicians Friend. I really couldnt be happier with them as they are a great sounding string for the money and the taperwound B and E string will easily fit over the often difficult Warwick bridge. They also seem to really shine under the light than many other strings I have seen.

Ijust tried out some jazz 66 flats after staying away form rotosound, no idea why really. Damn fine strings. Given me an entirely different opinion on rotosound strings.

Their guitar strings go out of tune really easily which is why I've not tried them more than once.
Mush, you might want to check the package for the Fender strings and see if they were made in Battle Creek, MI.
I remember seeing that on a package of Fender bass strings about 20 years ago.
If that's the case, your strings were made by GHS.

Ah now i remember why i stayed away from them. I've not had tuning problems with the 66's after they have been warmed up, but then warwicks are great for staying in tune. Tested them against TI flats imo they sounded the same but gave a bit more tension, louder output and a bit better natural harmonic response.
I'd used the Rotosound Swing Bass roundwounds for about 20 years and switched over to the DR's (Fat Beams and Long Necks) about 4 years ago.
These babies growl nicely, stay in tune and last a long, long time. They don't feel quite as coarse as the roundwound Rotosounds.
