Why were they named Streamer?
Just got curious in midnight.. Don't know what streamer exactly mean though..:lol:
Anyone know its origin?
 
i also don't know... but i know it sounds (in name&sound) and looks cool since day 1:)

I write for a magazine. In interviews or reviews we always pick out one quote and print it bigger on the page somewhere above. We call that a streamer.

Back in the fifties TV was new, so Fender made the Broadcaster/Telecaster. Nowadays we stream music, so Warwick was very early with the Streamer name:)

Well, it's sorta streamlined. IIRC, it's the first Warwick body style.
Since it was made under design license based on the Steinberger
human-contour curved "NS" body style already in use by Spector,
and since the idea of a contoured curved bass body was rare at
the time, I spoze that the NS shape was its major feature, major
enuf to govern the the naming of the instrument. So ... my best
guess is "Streamer" indicates a "streamliner" shape, since product
names are basically marketing tools.

Yea.. that contoured body is really streamlined.
One of the things I like about it is when I slap, it is easier to mute strings with my lower arm cuz the body wings are curved toward my body.

And thanks Warwick Official for always keeping us updated!
 
Hans Peter Wilfer decided to name it Streamer, because it sounds elegant, for a slim and curved and fast bass. He actually had the Water Stream in mind when he named the bass :-)
