After much consideration, I thought I might just put it out there, that I am looking to sell my SS1, 6 string in the very near future. I will make sure to come back and post some pictures in this thread, however, if anyone should be interested.. This is really a beautiful instrument.
This bass is a traditional 1995 Streamer Stage I, nice and wide neck, very reasonable string spacing, although with quite a thin neck profile which makes it just beautiful to play.
The bass has had some work on it very recently.. which has made this instrument play better now than ever before. In short, there a some subtle belt buckle marks on the back, and a few very minor blemishes and dings around the bridge side of the body, again.. nothing that ever concerned me in the least. Also, it has just had some small wood damage sanded out on top of the body, very minor. Though this means it was sanded down a little, and re-waxed, Instrument looks slightly more pale colour where the new wax is. Luthier advised that this would settle back into the yellow colour with a few months age.
Other than that, by my personal choice, I had the neck fingerboard planed down, it had a slight bow (Not warp) That I couldn't remove as the truss rod was at its limit. I took it to an amazing luthier here in Australia, who planed the fingerboard down, and it is noticeable down past the 17 fret that the fingerboard has been taken down.
These things I mention in detail are just to be forward about the instrument, especially for someone who is buying overseas and not had a chance to play it. The changes that were made have been very good, and as I mentioned, make it play better than it ever has before.
It has a Seymour Duncan 3 band pre amp, and Basslines soapbars in it.
I will be putting some pics up soon, though if anyone thinks they may be interested in an instrument like this, please feel free to get in touch. I am happy to work out a good price for someone who genuinely wants this bass.
Ps. This bass will be shipped with a fresh set of strings on it, a great setup, and a good quality hardcase.
